SAIB (UK) Was Elected the Standing Member of the Second Council of CCCUK（2017-6-26）

The 2017 Membership General Assembly of the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK) was held ceremoniously in London on June 20, 2017, and Ms. Pu Huiqiong, the Chairman of Shanghai Asian Insurance Brokers (UK) Limited was invited to attend. More than 70 membership companies as well as representatives from the sectors of financial insurance, trade and business, media and publication, government organization, and etc. participated in the meeting.

The meeting reviewed and approved the “Articles of Association of China Chamber of Commerce in the UK – 2017”, and elected and nominated the Standing Members of the Second Council of CCCUK. During the meeting, SAIB (UK) was elected the Standing Member of the Second Council of CCCUK, and Mr. Jin Xu, the Minister Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of PRC in UK awarded the related certificate to Ms. Pu Huiqiong. There are 24 companies being elected the Standing Members, and SAIB (UK) is the only one insurance brokers company among them. The other 23 members are those branches of large state-owned enterprises and private companies of China located in the UK which include the Bank of China London Branch, China Construction Bank UK Office, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China London Branch, China Taiping Insurance (UK) Co., Ltd., China Telecom (Europe) Ltd., PetroChina International (London) Co., Ltd., and Huawei Technologies (UK) Co., Ltd..

The CCCUK is an important force under the leadership of the Chinese Embassy in Britain in representing the interests of Chinese enterprises located in the UK as well as in promoting external activities, and it is also a “booster” of the Sino-British business cooperation. That’s the first time SAIB (UK) was elected the Standing Member of the CCCUK, and which is not only an honor to be trusted, but also a responsibility to be undertaken by SAIB (UK). Being the first Chinese insurance brokers company obtaining the business license from UK insurance market, SAIB (UK) will carefully undertake its responsibilities of being the Standing Member of the CCCUK, and will provide support as well as convenience in strengthening the Sino-British business and cultural cooperation.
